Besides swimming, many water activities are possible: sailing, kayak, rowing, waterski, wakeboard, stand up paddle, pedal boat, diving, canyoning...

For sailing sports like traditional sailboat, optimist, catamaran sailing or windsurfing, Lake Annecy is well adapted in so far as the prevailing winds are in the direction of the length and permit navigation on its 14,6km.
Kitesurfing is also possible but rather targets trained practitioners.

The paddle sports such as kayaking, rowing, stand up paddle are well represented, allowing the approach of the lake preserved areas: the natural reserve of Bout-du-Lac sheltering families of beavers, the castle of Duingt and its sandbank, the Roc de Chere with its secret coves and cliffs...
Pedal boat rental is also widespread around the lake.

Some activities which require an engine are also allowed on Lake Annecy, from common boat ride (many boat rental with or without license) to the guided or dinner cruise for a quiet discover of the lake, but do not forget lovers of extreme sensations who enjoy waterskiing, wakeboarding and wakesurfing!
(Caution : banana ride and jet ski are forbidden on the lake)

Underwater Lake Annecy, no corals or colored fishes, but other sights of interest for scuba diving, for beginners or experienced divers: fish and freshwater shellfish, herbarium, cliffs, prehistoric pile dwellings (remains of houses built on stilts listed as World Heritage), "Le France" shipwreck.

Various torrent and rivers flow into the lake, so canyoning is common around Lake Annecy and is intended for both beginners and experienced practitioners. Walking and swimming in a river, jumping, sliding, abseiling down, many different techniques for the same activity!
